Light Rail Station at Hennepin

The Minneapolis light rail train waits for pedestrians and traffic before crossing Hennepin Avenue.  Notice the car on the right? Yes, Hennepin is now a two way as well as First Avenue. The new Target Stadium is barely visible in the top left.

Factory Doorway

November first brings another theme day for the world’s daily photo bloggers. This month’s theme is “Doorway.” Wouldn’t life be better if you had this door? I mean, seriously, what kind of projects could you get done with a garage door like this, a forklift and a freaking overhead crane. I’ve decided that I want an overhead crane for Christmas… Santa? Big o' Empty Cement Chair
The theme for July is “Empty” and this big old empty cement chair has been inviting me and discouraging me for years. It’s a block from my house, but I have never sat in it. Someday I’ll sit down, but until then, I’ll just ponder it.

Dr. Suess Path

Minnesota in January? Hardly. I snuck out for a week to Santa Catalina Island with Joe Paquet. Joe was teaching a landscape-painting workshop there and I went with him to photograph the students & the island and to get out of winter for a few days. This photo was taken during a day hike I took with Deb (her husband was taking the workshop). We walked to the Pacific side of the Island. It ended up being an 11-mile round-trip and we climbed from sea level to 1650ft. This is the trail we were on. I could scarcely believe how steep it was! The view was worth the climb, check back in as I share more photos this week.
