Sign of Decay

I don't think the gang graffiti did this sign much harm. I absolutely love the weird oozing stains along the top of the pillars, who knows what did that.

Powerful Moon

I noticed the moon near this powerline pole. When I changed lenses and moved to position the moon, I discovered that the line that goes in front of the moon is painted blue. It looks like some weird effect of the moon behind the line, but it isn't; just serendipitous.

My Favorite Snow Blower

Hennepin County crews are removing the massive snow banks from Uptown this week. This terrifying machine is attached to a loader and has it's own 300-hp diesel engine. I watched them working the block by my home and was amazed by how complicated the process is. They first come by with this RPM Tech HS Series Detachable Snow Blower to get the majority of the snow, filling a dump truck in 30 seconds. Then two road graders work the area to scrape the snow and ice from the curb and the middle of the road. Then the beast returns for a final cleanup, which is when I took this shot.
