Minneapolis Daily Photoblog
A photo outpost on the edge of the great western prairie, Minneapolis Daily Photoblog records life in the beautiful rugged northern land of Minnesota. Minneapolis is a bustling metropolis with beautiful greenspaces, rivers and truly epic winters. This unique city was created by the railroad and lumber barons in the wild frontier leaving lots of awesomely rusty hulks and quiet wooded corridors to photograph.
Summer in Minnesota with dramatic arches.
One of the new sculptures in Uptown, not sure what it’s supposed to represent or if it’s just another creepy modern art thingy.
I took this image for my friend & client Bob Davis. He recorded a really cool walk through Uptown for his podcast. He told me about the recording before he posted it and asked me if I had a good photo of the Uptown Theater at night to use as the image for the show. I realized that I’ve never taken a shot like that and scurried down to take this shot that I have imagined for years. Be sure to check out the podcast, it’s a lot of fun, he tells the history of Uptown while he walks through this ever-changing neighborhood that I call home.
A low perspective on Uptown
The mighty Land Shark of Hot Sam’s looms over Interstate 35 keeping a watchful eye on the morning commuters. I wonder what stories this beast has, was it from a carnival? Who starts their day saying ‘I’m making a shark that fits on a trailer today!’?
This is how I found Hot Sam’s. Come on, could you drive past this and not turn back?
I think Nemo wants to explore Hot Sam’s Antiques…
My adventures at a unique Minnesota Mystery spot continues… What would you think if you found this scene in a Minnesota prairie?
The adventure continues through the oddities of Minnesota. Did you know that Petticoat Junction is here in our fair state?
Where and when in the Time-Space continuum did Caribou ever have signs like this? I found this in the the strangest place in Minnesota. Stay tuned for some really odd pictures…
