Who's the Minneapolis Cairn Builder?
Imagine my surprise walking around Lake of the Isles to find not one, but seven cairns on the shore. These are nice ones too, much nicer than my stumbling, awkward attempts. This took some time to build. These are not far from the big one I found a few weeks ago in Cedar Lake. More information about Cairns, or Stacked Stones.5
Point and Shoot vs. DSLR, S.M.O.Z.

The Earth as seen from the Science Museum
While I was at the Science Museum to see the Star Wars exhibit, I caught a glimpse from above of the Earth.0
Twins Stadium Construction
The new Twins Stadium construction OVER I-394. Yep, this whole thing spans over the interstate, railroad tracks, a bike trail and probably the new light rail tracks. This whole area is a snaggle of bridges and parking lots. The location is obvious when you look at an areal view, but from the ground it's a terrifying location to build anything on. Oh yeah, the basketball stadium is across the street and on the opposite side is the recycling & incineration plant. I took this photo from the middle of an overpass with no sidewalk.2
Infrared Zen Bike
OK, OK, I'll give the infrared a rest. But since today in my "Moment of Zen" day, where I try to stop your thoughts with an odd image, it fit. Here's my TerraTrike. It's a recumbent trike, loads of fun and a joy to ride. The best part is that I can haul my big camera around in the saddle bag and use it as a table when I am setting up my gear. Plus it's funner-n-ell in the winter; I go looking for ice patches to slide on. This is Fort Snelling State Park just south of the MSP airport in the Minnesota river valley.5
Yup, that's a pine tree. Not what you'd expect on a leisurely Saturday stroll through a park in Minnesota. This happy little snake was about three feet up the tree sunning himself.
