35W Mississippi Bridge on 9/11

It’s actually called the St. Anthony Falls Bridge, named for the falls just upriver from the bridge. The bridge is normally lit blue at night, but on this anniversary of 9/11, it was lit red, whit & blue. Kudos to Cheyenne for holding still for a 3 second exposure on a windy night.

    Very nice photo!
September 18, 2012 is the fourth anniversary of this bridge. The construction of the bridge lasted less than 11 months.
Its predecessor, built in 1967, collapsed in August 1, 2007.

Nick, thanks for the comment and for reminding me that the anniversary is the 18th; I was actually down there the morning it opened at 5:00am, you can see my post here and check the ones after it. I’ll have to find a new image for the 18th.
