Irvine Park Fountain

Rob, Dan and I went on a photo safari to St. Paul the other day and started our adventures at Irvine Park. The park is just a few blocks from the science museum and has this beautiful old fountain surrounded by very mature trees. The surrounding homes include the oldest surviving building in the city (1850). Instead of paraphrasing, I'll just let you read the sign:

Eco Lab Sculpture

This is the Sculpture in front of the Eco Lab Building in Downtown Saint Paul. I was standing under it looking up, on a bright sunny day.

Lakeside Wildflower Theme Day

The CDPB Theme for August is 'Bright colors'. I chose this photo since it's not and obvious brightly-colored object, but an effect I enjoy. When the sky is overcast, colors are relatively more vivid, something I learned from my painting instructor Joe Paquet. I shot this on the Lake of the Isles shoreline at 5:45 in the morning in the cool overcast morning. Click here to view thumbnails for all participants in the theme day.
