Saturday Beer Reflection

What do photographers do while they are waiting for their food at a bar? I noticed the reflection of a neon Budweiser sign in my cider, so I used my 50mm 1.4 wide open to isolate the reflection and throw the rest of the 'still-life' out of focus.

At 5:15am in the morning, the street lights under the Greenway Bridge bridge are as bright at the early morning sun.

Harriet Trolley in the Green

Did you know that there's a Trolley that runs between Lake Harriet and Lake Calhoun? You can learn more about the Trolley here. I like to walk the track on my way to and from Harriet from Uptown, it's a nice quiet little stretch that almost nobody knows about.

Fuzzy Bunny

Green week continues with a fuzzy bunny. I found this little guy grazing between the Lake Street Bridge and Tin Fish by Lake Calhoun. Right next to the footpath, so I got down on the ground and went to work. He watched me curiously for a few minutes before ducking into the brier patch.

City Park Deer

It still amazes me how much wildlife is eking out a living in the Metro. I met this guy just off the trail in yesterday's shot. Luckily, I look like another grazing animal when I'm out photographing, so the deer and rabbits aren't afraid of me. That's the trick by the way, wander and poke at the vegetation; predators stare at their prey, vegetarians wander and pick at things. Oh, speaking of rabbits... (come back tomorrow)

Nature Trail by Lake Harriet

As Green Week continues; here's the nature trail just north of  Lake Harriet. The entrances are  pretty well hidden, but worth the search.

Luscious Green

It's green week at Mitchster.com. Now that summer is really, really here I thought I'd share some of what makes winter tolerable here. This was taken on the nature trail north of Lake Harriet.
