Greenway Bridge Repair 2

I’m not sure, can I go through here?

Greenway Bridge Repair

A little end-of-season bridge repair. The old railroad bridges that now support the Greenway bike trail through Uptown have been crumbling over the years; finally their turn has come up for repair. Fisheye!

Clouds over Isles

That little snowstorm we had sucked the colors out of everything, the trees are turning a dull, dark green without popping the fall colors. Everything is starting to look like an old WW2 movie — except the sky.

This was shot with a 10.5mm fisheye that I rented. It’s got limited applications, but it’s much kinder to clouds than to people.

Cedar Waxwing Munching on Juniper Berries

He’sĀ  lost his mating colors for the fall or he’s a she — not sure. Good thing I’m not a Cedar Waxwing, right? Either way, IT was munching away while sitting in a juniper tree on Evergreen Point of Lake of the Isles. I stood only ten feet away for several minutes, but didn’t phase the lil’ bugger at all. It’s got to be a trick to eat fruit that relatively large without thumbs, let alone hands.

Sneaking Around the Capitol at Night

I went to the Minnesota State Capitol with my friend M Saturday for Shadows and Spirits of the State Capitol — a tour of the Capitol building at night, lead by actors telling the history of the building set in the year 1905. Part of the event was that they turned the lights down to “1905 levels” meaning that I shot the whole time at between a third and a twentieth of a second. Hold still! This image was taken with a 10.5mm fish-eye I rented for the weekend.
