Rabbit Stalking Grass

Deep in the furrows of the tragically unmowed fields of the side lawn, Sheldon took refuge from the marauding hordes of Uptown. Though the thistle thickets threw the theives thoughts asunder, the wary photographer stole a shot of Sheldon's secret spot.

Taste of Minnesota July 4th Fireworks

From attop the Wabasha Bridge the Taste of Minnesota Festival on Harriet Island was visible across the river (on the left) as well as was the fireworks. Quite the sea of humanity joined me in celebrating independence day on a beautiful warm evening on the banks of the mighty Mississippi.

Gay Pride Parade

Wow. Now that's an outfit. After all these years, this was the first time I've seen the Gay Pride Parade. I was working for Coca Cola: they were handing out Coke Zero along the route. If you get a chance, you have to see the parade some year, it's a truly odd experience, but you'll never see so many happy people in one place, seriously. BTW, check it! Rainbow Bright. Awesome. P.S. After a few conversations today, I looked up the origin of the Parade. If you get a chance read the Wikipedia entry on the Stonewall Riots.

Empty Chair - Theme Day

The theme for July is "Empty" and this big old empty cement chair has been inviting me and discouraging me for years. It's a block from my house, but I have never sat in it. Someday I'll sit down, but until then, I'll just ponder it. Click here to view thumbnails for all participants
