I love dogs and to see them enjoying life is really nice. I can just see the water flying when he came out and shakes himself off.

But what do you do with a Golden Retriever who won’t go near the water? Our Golden will not enter the pool; she’s fallen in a couple of times racing around the pool, but she won’t go in on her own. I keep teasing her about how no good Golden refuses to swim. But she ignores me!

Jacob, pools are scary. No obvious way out. She wants to run in the shallows on a lake’s edge. Once she realizes its easy to get out she’ll venture into the deeper water. The pool comes after that.

Hi Snapshutter – I’m sure you’re right…we just haven’t had many opportunities to let her play in a lake setting…and she’s getting kinda old now – 10 1/2…so she’d rather sleep than do anything – well, except eat!
