I love these things. They are very enigmatic, particularly so coming out of the water. You can find them in all sorts of odd corners of Death Valley, which is where I first saw them.

I was there with a hiking group, so I’m not sure, it was on the back side of a ridge of trees on the edge of a field, opposite from the ski hill. I want to go back and look for it myself, so I’ll see if I can find it.

Really cool set up here. I love finding cairns, but I’ve never seen that spot in Afton. I’ll have to check it out next time I go there. Whereabouts was it?
