Shiny New Cherry
The Spoonbridge proudly shows off it's shiny new Cherry, just back from Earl Scheib with a fresh coat of Cherry Red. This Minneapolis landmark was sadly separated over the late winter while the Walker Art Center had the Cherry repainted. It's a
much deeper red than it was before, either it had faded and this is the original color or they decided to make it less "pop" and more cherry. None the less, I'm happy it's back and doing it's job: the two ladies in the picture later asked me to take their picture with it behind them.
Oh, by the way, see the duck family in the pond? They're the stars from the last few days.
You have one of the counties best landmark. When I see that cherry, I know I’m in Minneapolis. And when I see it, I smile. Of all of the landmarks that you know, how many make you smile?
So that’s where it is! I’ve seen the sculpture before, but had no idea where it was installed. I love it — it’s so funky and fun! I like the deep, dark red. Looks good enough to eat!

It’s so whimsical and with the view behind it, it does make you smile. Thanks for the comment!

I love this landmark! It’s one of my favorites.
Yes, the color does seem different, but I like it! Glad its back, like a piece of Minnesota was missing or something!
