Foshay Tower Observatory

Another view from what used to be the top of Minneapolis. I love the open air deck! The observatory opened again back in August of this year, there’s a museum up there too. Ask at the front desk for a pass. It’s $8, but if you ask nicely and tell them Mitchster sent you…

New Website design

I’ve finished up another new website, Alexander Katlan is an artwork conservator in Flushing, New York. It’s an interesting site showing a lot of paintings that have been restored. You can see a damaged painting in the thumbnail above. Alex has written several books and has worked for the big museums. If you have something that Photoshop can’t fix, he’s your connection. Like many of the websites I build for artists, this one uses neutral colors to place the emphasis on the images, some of which I animate (in a tasteful way).

One of my main concerns when I build is that the site reflects my client. I don’t build just any site, I build YOUR site. Speaking of which, I have several new sites coming out soon, so stay tuned. When times are tough, you have to market your services more effectively and a professional website sureĀ helps. Thanks to Joe Paquet for the referral!

Like the convergence in that photo. Us engineers like order in the universe.

Cool site. So once you build a site do you maintain and update it, or does the client?
