Lake of the Isles Bridge Repair
Renovations around Lake of the Isles continue, the two bridges have been resurfaced with concrete. Once all the grounds work is done they will finally resurface the roads. I corrected the color in this image to emphasize the gold in the trees. Drawing down the color of the stopsigns and barricades evened out the image, before that, the eye couldn't let go of them to see the trees. Color work is much like working out the compositions in a painting, you have to decide where you want the eye to go and adjust accordingly.1
Great Blue Heron Fishing
Fighting against the oncoming twilight and a 600mm f/8 lens, I managed to capture a Great Blue Heron catch a fish on Lake of the Isles.8
WWE Smackdown Studio
Recently WWE Smackdown was televised live from The Target Center in Minneapolis, MN. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a wrestling fan, my buddy Dave works for them in the production truck running the tape machines and graphics. Since his job and I were in the same town, I got a tour of "the trucks." Would you believe that this is in a truck? Both sides push out and all the tables move. That's a full-height wall of monitors. They show up in the morning and put it all together for that evening's show. Not just the truck, the whole show. After the tour of the trucks, we went inside the arena and saw them putting up the stage. It's truely amazing that they can put together a full televised event including the stage and all the lighting in one day. While we were standing on the main floor surrounded by lighting gear and stage parts I asked him how many days ago the stage arrived and he looked puzzled at me and said "this morning." Gulp! I'd love to show you that, but photography in the arena is Verboten!0
