Statue Feet

Statue Feet

A close-up of Crest of the Wave by Harriet W. Frishmuth in the center fountain at the Como Conservatory in St. Paul.

  • I like this one. Somehow, despite the fact that the subject is an inanimate statue, it conveys a fragile humanity. Those feet look like they’ve got a little fungus, though. They could use a Ped Egg treatment!

  • Paul –
Ha! Thanks, I took a shot of the front of the feet, but the corrosion was so bad it was frightening to look at.

  • Oh my gosh…I really thought they were real when I first saw the photo.

  • Sharon –
    Thanks! Pretty amazing, aren’t they?
Como is one of my favorite places to hang out.

  • The sculptor got it right on. Extremely realistic — and a lovely capture of it.

  • Beautiful example of why a detail of a figure can be more interesting than the whole. Lovely color and light.
