Minneapolis Photographer Mitch Rossow’s daily photos of Minneapolis and the Twin Cities.
Matt and I went down to the St. Anthony Bridge construction site to take pictures on Sunday. It’s amazing to see them working on this monstrosity. 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Matt heard that they took four hours off for Christmas and one and a half for New Years. I have some close-ups of the guys working on it taken with the 200-500mm Tamron that I will show you later in the week.

I’m in Minneapolis now, and we stopped by the site to see the progress a couple days ago. Nice shot.
Goodness! How long is it going to take? It’s a fantastic piece of engineering, I’m sure, but I feel sorry for the workers.
There is a lot going on in this photo and you can clearly see al details and colours. I like it very much!
Glorious light. Polarizing filter? The fact that this a bridge shows off the enormity of the project. Our local mega-project,close down, tear out and replace 17 mi. of the one east-west Interstate through St. Louis City and County, is hard to see. I’ve wanted to shoot it but can’t find a good vantage point.

Don’t worry about the construction guys, they probably love this. Sold work, good pay. Everyone I’ve met there seems really up-beat. Can you imagine working on something so big and soon-to-be famous? They will forever be able to point to it and say “I made that” — wonderful.

Oh good, you finally made it over there.
