What is it about trains that draw our fullest attention? Is it the parallel symmetry of the tracks? The big lumbering powerful locomotives? the gentle giant box cars? The mournful horn?

I don't know, but I have an urge to hit the tracks...not literally. When the weather turns a bit more warm to run out to these yards, we need to plan a trip taking turns on lookout for wayward trains and yard bulls.

By the way, I like this new look.

The picture reminds me of my childhood. We had large railroad yards close by, and to cross all of the tracks to get to my cousins. It was close to the Mississippi river in Illinois.
