You had asked about my Iced Lava pic. The shot was taken below Coon Rapids Dam, and the river is froze over. The river is one big slab if ice with deep crevaces, and jumbled ice. Real interesting photographically. Also, I saw my first metro Pileated Woodpecker in the park. Apparantly, they are a regular visitor. I just got the Piliated in the viewfinder when a goup of noisy kids came along and scared it off. I shall tey again.

Whiteout in Minnesota? Umm, well, I guess you signed up for it. I do admire your courage, though. Us folks down here, 400 miles to the south, are weenies about such things. We are getting a little sleet/snow/freezing rain at the moment and people panic.

Well-written comment, by the way. Witty, too.

Well, doesn't that just sum it up? What was it, 15 below here yesterday, not counting wind chill? Yikes! I was happy and warm as a clam in my heated house, not daring to venture out into the cold like your brave self. Some days the only time I get out during Winter is to play catch with my daughter while waiting for her school bus. Good enough, I say. Now, the question is, will The Mitchster plow into that Jack London story again...?
