snow falls gently down
covering all that I can see
where are my car keys
arctic system hits
sixteen below really hurts
where’s my hat and mitts
as day follows night
as hope follows tragedy
summer will return
Freshly minted haikus for you, thanks to inspiration from the frozen Jeep seats, the Japanese garden at Normandale College in Bloomington and my happily Caribou Coffee-addled brain.

Mitch,
A great picture this morning of a very tranquil looking scene. By the way, congrats on number 100! Your pictures are awesome so I hope there are plenty more to follow.
I can’t believe that it’s -12 degrees! No wonder my family hasn’t emailed me; they’re probably hunkered down under piles if blankets! My darlin’ grandkids have been driven to school last week, or so I’ve been informed. The Japanese Garden belies the fact of the frigid temperature; it looks too calm and peaceful!!
You made my day! Please stop by Jackson Daily Photo to pick up your award.

Lovely poem,Mitch! Glad you braved the cold and got out to capture this excellent pic. Was this from your close-up lens? I really like this wide view from this lens. I’m thinking it would be a great lens for downtown street scenes.
