Obviously this was taken in the summer, but I was thinking about turtles earlier; what do turtles do under the ice in the winter for fun? Do they sleep all day? Raccoons & Possums are still in my trash every night and the Mallards, Wood Ducks, Nuthatches & Shovelers left a while ago — so what are the turtles & bees up to?

I could check with Wikipedia, but I’m feelin’ lazy and sort of like the image of the turtles playing cards and telling fish stories.

I loved seeing the turtles…and that is a good question about what they’re doing this time of year. The can’t fly south like some of their feathered friends do.

I had to laugh about the raccoons in your trash. Our next door neighbors used to feed the raccoons, so they would often check out our trash, too. Well, we discovered that they love Taco Bell. Any time we would have TB, they would be particularly interested in our trash (and noisy, too). One night, we went out to find the largest raccoon sitting on his hind legs, holding a leftover burrito with his hands (just like we would). I only wish that I’d had my camera with me…
